Milla Stacpoole has drawn and painted in watercolour ever since she was young. She was born and brought up in Italy where from an early age she was inspired by the surroundings of her family home on Lake Como and thus developed her love of botany, plant forms and their colour. She originally trained and worked as an Interior Designer in London which included applying her decorative skills to hand-painting furniture.

In 2005 she pursued a Diploma in botanical illustration at the Chelsea Physic Gardens in London and went on to exhibit and sell her paintings. She set up Wild Damson in 2010 which she now runs from her home in Hampshire.
